The two watches are made of different materials and have different dials: the Radiomir 1940 watch (PAM00399) has a polished steel case (AISI316L) with a black dial, while the Radiomir 1940 Oro Rosso red gold watch (PAM00398) has a red gold case with a brown dial. Panerai uses 5NPt red gold, this special alloy contains a very high proportion of copper (24.1%), which makes the color deeper. It also contains 0.4% platinum to help prevent metal oxidation.
