Three Urushi Lacquered Feather Watches-news Angular_ Momentum

Angular Momentum created a watch entirely made of ‘Urushi’ Japanese traditional lacquered watch, with three light feathers on its black lacquered surface.
The dial base is black high-quality Japanese ‘Roiro Kuro Urushi’ lacquer.
The process of making a lacquer-based dial includes 12 layers of paint of different qualities. Each layer is first brushed with a layer of paint and then hardened in a ‘furô’ cabinet with a constant temperature of 27 ° C and a humidity of 68% for 24 hours. The last layer is carefully polished to a mirror surface with various process steps.

Three feathers were made and carved with black Urushi paint using ‘takamaki’, painted with transparent Urushi paint, and then carved with lines, cleaned with a special Japanese paper, and dusted with powder-using the sophisticated technique of ‘chinkin’ -One piece of gold powder, another piece of rose gold powder and one piece of platinum powder, clean again with ‘washi’ paper, and finally set a diamond on each small feather.
The bird is a symbol of the soul and gives people special meaning to feathers. Birds fly and have the power of ascension, destined to symbolize the connection between heaven and earth.
